By Jan Ferlisi, Daily News Staff Writer

This Friday, July 18, at 7:00 pm at 205 Royal Palm Way. Palm Beach, FL 33480

Batiah King, a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, has returned from a tour of duty in Iraq and will speak today at the Chabad Jewish Center of Palm Beach. She is shown with an officer in the Iraqi army in one of the villages where she was stationed doing Police Transition Team training.

U.S. soldier Batiah King will speak at the Chabad Jewish Center of Palm Beach about her success with local people in Iraq, where she was stationed as a member of the Army Reserve. She will speak at 7 p.m. Friday at the center, 205 Royal Palm Way. King, 24, has been in the Army Reserve for five years and has been deployed overseas twice, once to Afghanistan for detainee operations and the second to Iraq.
She has just returned from her one-year tour in Iraq doing Police Transition Team training. "We lived with them in their village five days a week and met with them, reassuring them that things were going to be okay," she said.
"We will have a special welcome home dinner in honor of Batiah's safe return," Rabbi Zalman Levitin of the Chabad Jewish Center said. "Shabbat is a great opportunity to pray for the safety of the men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan."
The center will hold Shabbat Services at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by dinner at 7:30.
